Tips to Improve Your Golf Swing

Review these tips to improve your golf swing before you head out to the golf course. Just a few simple tweaks easily takes your swing from average to stellar in the space of a few games.
Choose the right club
Just because you hit a ball harder does not mean it goes further. The harder you swing, the harder it is to keep the ball in play. Choose a club that only requires you to put moderate effort into your swing.
It is not just your arms
Even serious golfers need occasional reminders about the importance of legs in a golf swing. Never think of swinging the club into the air. Simply put it behind your back and use your body weight to direct the swing. Coiling your body and creating muscle tension gives you the torque needed to deliver a powerful swing. This also helps you hit the ball with more accuracy.
Do not rush
Do not hurry into the backswing. This does not speed up your downswing and might even result in slowing it down. Only use this swing to get the club to the starting point of the downswing. Make the swing as gently as possible.
Do not grip too hard
Remember to relax your grip on the club. Gripping too hard blocks the club from releasing properly.
Golfing is a much tougher sport than it appears. It takes years of practice to perfect your swing, but if you follow these tips, find yourself well on the way to giving your game new life.
